Frequently Asked Questions
What is a non-medical walking companion?
A non-medical walking companion is an amiable and trusted professional who walks with your loved one for friendly, social connection and enjoyment. They are not medical providers and do not perform medical care, but they provide companionship, support, and peace of mind during walks.
Who can use this service?
Our service is primarily designed for seniors, especially those aged 75 and above, who want to stay active, enjoy social interaction, or require safe walking support. Families seeking peace of mind for their loved ones also use our service.
Are companions trained or background-checked?
Yes! All companions undergo background checks, reference verification, and safety training. Many (not all) have CPR/First Aid certification. Safety and trust are our top priorities.
How long are the walks?
Walks can be customized to your loved one’s needs. Typical options are 30 or 60 minutes, with flexibility based on pace, stamina, and preferences. This is flexible and based on the needs of your loved ones.
Can companions accompany my loved one on errands or outings?
Absolutely! We offer companionship for neighborhood walks, local errands, park visits, and other safe community outings. The goal is to combine movement with social engagement and provide peace of mind for the family.
How often can my loved one schedule walks?
Walks can be scheduled daily, weekly, or as needed. We also offer flexible packages for recurring appointments to create a consistent routine and connection. Ask about our subscription model to save money!
How do families stay updated?
After each walk, we provide a short update via text or email, including highlights, location, photos, voice memos, and any observations. This helps families feel connected and reassured.
Is transportation included?
For walks in the neighborhood or nearby parks, transportation is included if needed. For longer outings, we can arrange safe drop-offs and pick-ups depending on your schedule and your comfort level.
How do I book a walk?
You can book by calling 310.503.4414 or texting us. We offer a free 20-minute meet-and-greet first, so your loved one can get comfortable with their companion. This meeting will include the walker, the companion, and the family member.
What if my loved one has mobility limitations?
We tailor walks to your loved one’s pace and abilities. Companions provide assistance for safe walking, rest breaks, and any mobility support needed. Frequent stops or bench rests are encouraged when needed.

Why choose a non-medical companion over family or friends?
While family and friends are valuable, a professional companion provides dedicated attention, consistency, and training in safety and engagement. It also allows family members peace of mind while maintaining their own schedule. A non-medical companion is always open to listening to how the walker is feeling, doesn’t judge, and is open to hearing all the old stories.
